SATURDAY
March 23

2:00 PM Orientation

6:00 PM: Dinner

Location: Francis & Clare House also known as the Home & Offices of NDE, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada 89106, 702-646-4814.

Most people will sleep here, or as guests of friends of NDE.

SUNDAY
March 24

8:30 AM: Blessing and invocation outside the National Atomic Testing Museum

9:00 AM: Step-Off

Lunch in park at E St. and Washington (Time approx. 1:00 PM)

6:00 PM: Dinner at Francis & Clare House

Walk from the Atomic Testing Museum (755 E. Flamingo Rd., west of Swenson), up the Las Vegas Strip, down the Fremont Street Experience, out to the Nevada Site Office of the Dept. of Energy and the offices of National Security Technologies which operates the NTS (NNSS), ending at the Martin Luther King Statue at MLK and Carey just 3 blocks from Francis & Clare House. Day 1 Route turn-by-turn.

Most people will sleep at Francis & Clare House or as guests of NDE friends.

MONDAY
March 25

7:15 AM: Depart from Francis & Clare House in vehicles

8:00 AM: Walkers step off
(Starting point: Hwy 157, Mile Post 92) to Lee Canyon Road (Hwy 156 Mile Post 106) (almost 14 miles)

Most people will camp out at Hwy 156 junction (at least 100 feet from US 95). A few people will return to Francis & Clare House or other housing in Vegas. Other options include shuttling to the Temple of Goddess Spirituality or renting a room at the Indian Springs Casino.

TUESDAY
March 26

Pre-dawn to sun up: Sunrise Ceremony with Johnnie Bobb, Western Shoshone Spirtual person and Chief of the Western Shoshone National Council.

8:30 AM: Depart from Lee Canyon Road (Hwy 156, Mile Post 106) to Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs (14 miles) The Temple of Goddess Spirituality is at Mile Post 123, past Creech AFB.

7:30 PM: Gather in Temple for fire and reflection.

Once we reach Creech AFB, most walkers shuttle in vehicles to the Goddess Temple and walk the stretch between I. Springs and C. Springs on Wednesday.

Most people will bed down in the guest house or a tent at the Temple of Goddess Spirituality in Cactus Springs. A few people will return to Francis & Clare House or other housing in Vegas. Another option is to rent a room at the Indian Springs Casino.

WEDNESDAY
March 27

Pre-dawn to sun up: Sunrise Ceremony with Johnnie Bobb, Western Shoshone Spirtual person and Chief of the Western Shoshone National Council.

Only 3 miles of walking today, between the Sekhmet Temple and Creech Air Force Base's "Commercial Entrance" which is the one closer to Las Vegas).

6:30 - 8:00 AM: Vigil at Creech Air Force Base, Indian Springs, Nevada

Noon - 2:00 PM: Peaceover Seder (RSVP required for people not already registered with the walk.

3:30 - 5:00 PM: Vigil at Creech AFB.

People usually only walk this short stretch of highway once and then shuttle in vehicles to and from the Creech vigils the other times.

Wednesday is a day of reflection at the Goddess Temple punctuated by peace vigils at Creech Air Force Base in the morning and afternoon and a semi-traditional, Jewish Renewal flavored "Peaceover" Seder. Wednesday is the first day of Passover, a festival of liberation and Spring!

Again, most people will bed down in the guest house or a tent at the Temple of Goddess Spirituality in Cactus Springs. A few people will return to Francis & Clare House or other housing in Vegas. Another option is to rent a room at the Indian Springs Casino.

THURSDAY
March 28

Pre-dawn to sun up: Sunrise Ceremony with Johnnie Bobb, Western Shoshone Spirtual person and Chief of the Western Shoshone National Council.

8:30 AM: Depart from Cactus Springs to Peace Camp (15.5 miles, (on southwest side of US 95 at the Mercury exit; across from Mercury just N. of NYE Co. Mile Post 5).

4:30 PM (Approx.): Arrival at Peace Camp across from the Mercury Exit* Welcoming Ritual with Johnnie Bobb, Chief of the Western Shoshone National Council.

After Johnnie welcomes us, there will be ritual foot washing, a Holy Thursday tradition..

Most people will set up tents and camp across the highway from Mercury. Some people will shuttle back to the Goddess Temple for the night and drive out early for Sunrise ceremony in the morning.

FRIDAY
March 29

Pre-dawn to sun up:
Sunrise Ceremony with Johnnie Bobb, Western Shoshone Spirtual person and Chief of the Western Shoshone National Council.

10:00 AM "No More War Victims" Stations of the Cross Re-enactment outside Mercury entrance to the Nevada Test Site (NNSS )* followed by procession to main gate and line-crossing.

Good Friday

Noon: Closing Circle followed by camp clean up, lunch and departures.Most people will journey home. Others will spend the night in Las Vegas at Francis & Clare House or in other accommodations. For everyone still in southern Nevada, there will be an informal dinner at Francis & Clare House.

*For events at gate to NNSS: Exit US-95 at Mercury (about 5 miles into Nye County from Clark Co.), make a U-turn before you cross the line at the entrance of the Nevada National Security Site, drive back towards the freeway, and pull out before reaching the freeway, down, off the road. Additional parking is available if you continue under the freeway after you've made the U-turn. There is a large gravel, parking area.

Driving Directions to Peace Camp:
Take Hwy 95 North out of Las Vegas. 65 miles out of town you will see the Mercury exit (after Indian Springs and Cactus Springs). Take the Mercury exit, then, as soon as you can, make a U-turn and drive under the freeway, to the south (if you don't make the U-turn, you will instead come to the legal boundary of the Nevada Nuclear Security Site).
